Hallo,

ich würde gerne Anfang nächsten Jahres ein Praktikum in London machen und soll der Agentur, die das vermittelt ein relativ allgemeines Bewerbungsanschreiben zur Weiterleitung schicken.
Ich hab mir den Text erstmal auf deutsch vorgeschrieben und dann auf englisch übersetzt.
Ich bitte um Korrektur ! Am besten nah an der deutschen Vorlage bleiben..

Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,




Nachdem ich meine schulische Ausbildung im Juni mit dem Abitur beendete, entschied ich mich dazu erst nächstes Jahr im September ein Studium zu beginnen. Die verbleibende Zeit möchte ich dazu nutzen bereits einige Eindrücke aus der Arbeitswelt zu sammeln und mich auch in Hinblick auf das bevorstehende Studium zu orientieren.


In dieser Orientierungsphase war mir ein Praktikum im Ausland von Anfang an sehr wichtig. Dadurch kann ich in noch größerem Maße als es mir in Deutschland möglich ist, lernen selbstständig zu sein und mein Leben selbst in die Hand zu nehmen. Außerdem eröffnet mir dies die Möglichkeit meine Sprachkenntnisse einer Fremdsprache zu vertiefen. Da Englisch die meist gesprochene Sprache der Welt ist und in jedem Fall hilfreich sein wird, hoffe ich mein Praktikum in London absolvieren zu können. Auch möchte ich mir damit den Traum verwirklichen einmal in dieser faszinierenden Stadt zu leben und sie von innen kennenzulernen. Ich denke auch, dass mir ein Praktikum in England bedeutende Einblicke in die englische Arbeitswelt bieten kann, was mir in meinem späteren Berufsleben hilfreich sein kann.


Da ich mich sehr für neuere und zeitgenössische Kunst interessiere und auch plane unter anderem Kunstgeschichte zu studieren, würde ich gerne ein Praktikum im Bereich Kunst und Kultur machen. So möchte ich zum einen schon ein wenig Berufserfahrung in diesem Bereich sammeln und zum anderen die Möglichkeiten kennenlernen, die sich hier bieten. Besonders interessiert bin ich an der Arbeit in Museen und Galerien, aber auch andere Felder kommen in Betracht. Leider habe ich noch kaum eine Vorstellung, was mich erwartet und kann deshalb auch kaum Erwartungen formulieren. Jedoch hoffe ich auf eine Stelle, die viel mit Kunst und eher wenig mit Marketing und Verwaltung zu tun hat.

From the very beginning an internship abroad appeared to me as indispensable for this career orientation period. This makes it possible for me – even more than this would be the case in germany – to learn being self-dependent and taking my life in my own hands. Besides this offers me the possibility to improve my knowledge of a foreign language. Since english is the most spoken language of the world and will definitely be of avail for my future, I hope to complete my internship in London. By this means I also want to realize my dream of living in this fascinating city for some time an getting to know it from the inside. Then I think that an internship in England will provide me an important insight into the english working environment, which can be helpful for my future career.

Being very interested in modern and contemporary art and planing to study history of art, I would like to do my internship in the field of art and culture. On the one hand I want to already gain a little professional experience in this field and on the other hand i want to become acquainted with the possibilities which arise here. I am especially interested in the work at museums and galleries, but other domaines come into question as well. Unfortunately I have little conception of what is awaiting me, which makes it hard for me to express any expectations. Though I hope for a position having a lot to do with art and little with marketing and administration.

You need to think about your application from the point of your employer.
What can you offer?
Why are you a more attractive alternative to local applicants?

+ you are interested in art

- limited English skills
- immature / still growing up (learning to be independed...)
- not very open to other tasks nor high flexibility (marketing and administration...)
- no relevant previous work experience (mentioned)
- no specific knowledge of art (mentioned)

Are you really interested in work experience or more interested in experiencing the life in London?

You'll need to highlight your specific transferable skills
which you've gained throughout your life.
