Danke!First of all it is important to know that the german politics is a parliamentary democracy, so that the german people only can elect their favourite Member of Parliament, who represents their electorate. This process is good for the democracy, because of a Member of Parliament represents no longer your interests, you can elect another Member of Parliament in the next legislative period.
Having said that you must to know that a Member of Parliament represents not always your interests. This fact has many purposes. On the one hand a Member of Parliament has much more knowhow than a citizen, because there are many consultants around them who are optimal informed about new issues. But a citizen would decide charged with emotion and maybe not factual correct. For example look at the discussion about the euro crisis. Many of the population would banish greece from the European Monetary Union, because their debts are expensive for the European countries. But I think they forget that booting out greece from the European Monetary Union could means that consequently other indebted European countries would be panicked so that the crisis would be all the worse.
Another important point is the lobbyism in the politic. Either lobbyists spends parties a lot of money in order to influence their decisions for the benefit of their company or they elect a party which has good contacs to them.
