1. Wann benutzt man "as" als während?
2. Ich dachte "beside" hieße auch "neben"?
4. Hier dachte ich, dass die Formulierung "habt ihr vor (...) zu besteigen" der Verweiß für ein "going to future" ist?

1. Wann benutzt man "as" als während? "as" wäre hier eine Konjunktion, d.h., das Wort leitet einen Nebensatz ein, welcher ein Verb braucht. Du kannst Dir merken, dass "as" in Verbindung mit einer Tätigkeit verwendet wird:
As I was going over the the far fam'd Kerry mountain . Du kannst in diesen Fällen auch "while" oder "when" verwenden.
"During" hingegen ist eine Präposition und wenn Du es direkt mit einer Zeitspanne, demnach mit Nomen, verwendest, bekommst Du eine adverbiale Bestimmung der Zeit, aber noch keinen Satz: "during the summer holidays, during my childhood, during the year 2000".
2. Ich dachte "beside" hieße auch "neben"? Tut's auch, ich hätte meinen Vorschlag wohl grün markieren sollen, denn es ist Geschmackssache, ich würde es halt eher mit "next to" ausdrücken... ).
4. Hier dachte ich, dass die Formulierung "habt ihr vor (...) zu besteigen" der Verweis für ein "going to future" ist?
Bei Übersetzungen ist das immer so eine Sache! Mein Tipp: um sicher zu gehen, nimm das Wort, das sicher die Bedeutung hat (plan, intend) und nicht eine grammatische Konstruktion, die das Gemeinte ausdrücken könnte...

Zunächst mal kurz:
1. Pass etwas auf die Schreibung der Zeiten im Englischen auf, sonst kann sich das falsch einprägen und das wäre ja schade.
2. Auf englisch wäre der Satz:
And you chose the "are planning to" because the present perfect with future meaning expresses an agreed upon action in the future.
Wichtig: wo ist das Prädikat und in welcher Zeitform steht es und ist es ein Hilfsverb oder ein Vollverb?
Ich hab's gefunden: es ist "choose", hier im Past Tense, weil es eine abgeschlossene Handlung beschreibt (das Auswählen meinerseits war in dem Moment beendet, wo ich das Wort hinschrieb) und zusätzlich ist wichtig, dass es sich um ein Vollverb handelt. Für das richtige question tag gilt demnach: es muss im Past Tense stehen und es muss eine Form von "do" sein, weil wir es hier eben nicht mit einem Hilfsverb zu tun haben, das wir einfach wiederholen könnten.

Könnte es sein, dass wir ein wenig aneinander vorbei erzählen?
Mir ging es zunächst mal um die inhaltliche Übersetzung des Wortes "vorhaben" aus dem deutschen Satz. Das entspricht im Englischen z.B. "plan" oder "intend". Wenn Du Deinen Vorschlag verwendest, heißt die Übersetzung[/color] "Ihr werdet in den nächsten Ferien ... besteigen, nöch?" Das entspricht inhaltlich nicht dem vorgegebenen Satz, deshalb die Änderung der Vokabel.
Und ich habe hier das Present Progressive gewählt, weil Planung und Vorhaben meist Dinge sind, die eine gewisse Zeitdauer in Anspruch nehmen. Demnach meine ich das Present Progressive tatsächlich als Ausdruck einer über einen Zeitraum andauernden Handlung in der Gegenwart.
