Barack Obama has been the 44th President of the USA since 20th of January 2009. He is the son from a US-American and a Kenian and the first Afro-American in this position. He is a politican from the Democratic Party and is a Lawyer as well. In 2009 he got the Nobel Peace Prize.

Obama's father was from Kenia, his mother from Kensas, she had British, Irish and German roots. The met each other when they were students at the University of Hawai. The got married in 1961, when in other parts of America weddings between black and white people were not allowed.

In 1964 they got divorced and the father went on with his study at Harvard University. Obama saw him for the last time when he was 10 years old. He has 6 silblings from his father. His mother specialiced herself in Antrophology and Development. She married an Indonesian and went with Barack to Jakarta were his halfsister was born.

Obama was studying at the Occidental College in Los Angeles for two years and then at the Colombia Unversity in New York, which is one of the Ivy League Colleges. After his Bachelor-diplom in Political Science, he was working at the Business Cooperation in New York for one year. 1985 he moved to Chicago, to work for charitable organisation, which helped the poor. After that he was studying law for three years and he was chosen as first president of the Harvard Review Magazine. In 1992 he started to get involved in Poltical Questions and helped Bill Clinton at his election. He mobilized 150 000 voters for him. Since 1993 he had worked in a law-office.
