Hallo, ich möchte demnächst ein Auslandssemester machen. Dazu habe ich jetzt ein Motivationsschreiben verfasst. Ich bin mir aber mit der Grammatik/Formulierung nicht so sicher. Könntet ihr mal drüberlesen und mir eventuell Verbesserungsvorschläge geben? Ich wäre euch sehr dankbar.

Letter of Motivation

Great Britain. My Dream, my Choice, my Opportunity.

If I can go abroad, I would get the opportunity to think outside the box,
to be open for another culture and open up my horizons. (Zitat finden!)


My name is x and I am a German Bachelor student. I am studying business ad-ministration at the University of Berlin and I would like to study abroad.

Why Great Britain?
When you decide to go abroad for a long time, than you will choose a country in which you think or know you will feel well there.
I visited Great Britain three times in my holidays. Twice I stayed two weeks in a guest family in Cheddleton in the county Staffordshire.
My hometown x in Germany has a twinning arrangement with the town Cheddleton in England.
It was an amazing experience and so I realized, I want to stay longer in this country to get to know it better.
Furthermore, in my last year on school, I got the chance travelling to London on an educational trip with my English teacher for a whole week.
It was a great experience and I want to visit Great Britain again. There are so many points of interests I want to discover.
Even now I can say England is a country where I can study abroad, because it could fit to me very well.

Why Warwick Business School?
The University of Warwick is a campus university and offers a lot of amenities on the campus.
WBS is a department of the University of Warwick and one of the UK’s most highly rated business schools.
Due to the fact of the highly number of international students, the university is a truly global accredited business school, where cultural exchange and variety are guaranteed. I would like to get to know another university and their educational system. WBS differs from the University of Berlin because there are less people in the lectures than in Berlin. I see this as a great advantage for the students to get in contact with professors. WBS offers undergraduate courses in accounting and finance which fit very well to my study in Berlin.
WBS also has a lot of student societies and sport clubs for the leisure time and the International Office organized journeys to London,
York or Cambridge for the Erasmus students and supported them by any questions. Such facilities show that WBS do care about the international students and want to feel good during the period they are studying abroad.

Expectations:
What I expected from my semester abroad? I think it will be a challenge.
Fare away from home, starting with the search for an accommodation near the new university and to get along with requirements in another
language than my mother longue. Maybe I will overstep my own limits or get to know me in unaccustomed situations, but I think such experiences are very important for the own development. I would like to gain international friendships, to become acquainted with a new culture, another way of life and to make unforgettable experiences. I want to improve my English and to get several new impressions. I always been attracted to Great Britain, its culture and life style, and I would love to have the opportunity to live there. For that reason, I want to step up to the plate! I want to go abroad and to live and study in England. Not least because I like the tea time so much!
