Definition of "pledge of allegorical" & "New Canon"

Beitrag von DiamantenFee. »

Hello (:

I have the task to define some terms and definitions. Next week I am going to write an test about them. But I can not find the definitions of the two phrases "New Canon" & "pledge of allegorical". Can someone help me please? My problem is that on google I only find Links which are about the Photo-camera "Canon" and by the second term google can not find anything useful.

I am thankful for every help I get!
If I did some terrible mistakes in my text feel also free to correct :)

THANK YOU!

Have you got any context for those terms?

I can as much as try to define the first term, provided, that you've spelled it correctly.

The word "canon" can mean a rule or a set of rules or teachings (especially in an ecclesiastic context), a standard or criterion, or the body containing any of this. Therefore a "new canon" is either of the aforementioned only that it is new. For example some non-traditional, recent teachings of a church.

However "Pledge of allegorical" is beyond me, more so since the ending -ical is and adjective suffix but having a singular adjective without an accompanying noun is not grammatical.

The general theme is "The USA" & I am not quit sure by "pledge of allegoric", it also can be "pledge of alligorie". The handwriting of my teacher is kind of confusing sometimes :/
