In this book I think the theme racism is overstated and it advance the segregation because the narrator tries to explain how Aboriginals und white Australians live. He can’t manage that and his book fall for prejudices. I’m of the opinion that the nationality of someone can’t explain how he is. Even an Aborigine can have “white” ideals; even a white Person can have ideals from black ones. The book shows two sides and you have to choose one. I don’t think it’s a good book to represent tolerance. My impression is that even the narrator has prejudices – he doesn’t seem to understand what racism means.
