ich bereite mich gerade auf eine Englischarbeit am Mittwoch vor.Da mein Fehlerquotient immer so mies ist stelle ich mal meinen Übungshausaufgaben rein:
1.Aufgabe ist es aus Sicht von America aus dem Buch Tortilla Curtain zu schreiben:
Dear Diary,
I never had to work and I never had to earn money by myself.Being in America changes my life .The country of my ancestors is really different.Women are not allowed to work,because their husbands are responsible for this .Since Candido was hiden by a car I looked after a working place.At saturday a rich man gave my a job.I had to clean "Buddhas".It is hard work and my whole body hurts,but for the first time being in America I feel like being a part of the American Dream.Even if the job is hard it gives me hope for my unborn child.Without an unpermanent job it is difficult to buy enough food for three human.In addition I am worried about our living place. Living in a canyon without a real house feels like being a wild animal in the desert.Therefore I have future dreams.I am often seeing us at a little house with a chimney and a machine for dish and a lot of food.I hope this dream will happen quickley
2. Analyse the language used in the text passage.What does the use of language tell the reader about Delany?
Delaney is one of the main characters of the novel "Tortilla Curtain".In the textpassage are many slang spoken passages. They stand in contrast to the education of the peoples living in Arroyo Blanco.Firstly Delaney thinks that the Mexican is a "son of a bitch".Later Delaney lost control by saying ":censored: you" to the mexican.In addition the Mexican makes use of a colloquial language too.Because of blaming the Mexican for the fire the people of Arroyo Blanco insult them.Delaney r reaction and using of language is a contrast to his ideals.Even if he is calling himself a liberal humanist,he acts like a racist.The textpassage underlines his change during the whole book.At the beginning of the book Delany is described as a liberal human.(sein zwiespältiger Charakter wird durch die Benutzung von einigen Adjektiven hervorgehoben(leider scheitere ich an diesen Satz..)It shows the descrepany between his ideals and actions??????).He reacts as long as not being (selbst betroffen) liberal.but after the accidents he shwos that he is racist.All in all I come to the conclusion that the using of language underlines Delanys change of ideals.
