I have to practice my writing skills for school and it would be great if someone could check it. I have to write a report about the use of Internet in Colleges. I hope its ok.

Report on the use of Internet

Introduction:

This report will give an overview of the immediate situation concerning the use of internet at the Technology Department.


Current Situation:

Computers with free internet are provide in the following areas: library, common room and class rooms. The college offers W-lan as well.


Students mostly use the W-lan with their own laptops. Almost every second person at the college has one.


Benefits and Disadvantages:

It is possible to be online 34
 
hours per day. Nowadays every third person has a phone with internet or a little laptop.

+ Information around the clock with only one “click”

+ Fast exchange of class materials, info sheets etc.

No free time because of the fact being available all the time by mail, internet, phone etc.


Future use in college

In several years the situation might change a bit. Later almost everyone will have a laptop or an I-phone. The public computers will be gone and W-lan is going to be everywhere.


Recommendation

In y point of view, I think it is a good idea to be online all the time. It is a great advantage for students and for their studies.

+ Information is always only one mouse click away

+ Exchange of learning materials, info sheets etc. is easy

- No time off because one is reachable all the time by phone, mail, internet etc.


Future use in college

In several years the situation might change a bit. Almost everyone will have at least a laptop or an iPhone.
So the number of public computers will be reduced because internet access is going to be available everywhere.


Recommendation

From my point of view it is a good idea to be online all the time.

You can use internet or Internet, but I suggest you are consistant.

For obvious technical reasons (which I'm not going to explain here)
WLAN will never be available everywhere, but there are other technologies.

Hi Gina, wahrscheinlich nur ein Vertipperle, aber man sollte doch darauf aufpassen, den Apostroph nur im Genitiv oder zur "contraction" zu verwenden, keineswegs aber im Plural!
