1)The text “All My Sons” written by Arthur Miller in 1947 is a drama which is playing after the Second World War. The drama is a three-act play. The story does handle about Joe Keller, who produced airplane parts during the second World War. He send a batch that he knows to the front and because of it 21 pilots died. One of his sons Larry don´t wants to leave with it and committed suicide. Three and a half Years Joe could hide the truth but one day the truth comes out.


This text excerpt is the third act of the story and does handle about a dramatically family discussion between Chris, his mother, Ann (earlier the girlfriend of Larry and now of Chris) and his father Joe Keller (his father). The setting of the play is the front of their house. Chris wants to leave the family and go to Cleveland. He can´t forgive the guilt of his father. Ann wants to go with him, but Chris says no. Than Ann put out a letter from Larry. Larry has written it on the day he died. In this letter Larry explain that he can´t leave with the guilt of his father and killed himself. This is the moment where the story becomes more dramatic. Joe said to Chris to get the car and go into the house for his jacket. A few moments later they have hear a shot from the house. Joe Keller killed himself.

2)The relationship between Chris and his father, Joe, is strained because of an mistake from Joe. Joe Keller make a mistake that killed 21 pilots and the second world war. As result of that Larry, his other son, killed him self. Chris hates his father since he knows about his guilt. He is confidants that his father have to be punished for this. Chris and his father are both angry with each other. Chris because of the mistake of his father and Joe because his son wants to listen him. Joe Keller tries to reconciled with his son but Chris becomes only more furious. After the suicide of Joe Keller Chris change his mind and started to cry. This shows that he loved his father, but he was to angry to admit it. 137




3)The problem is that Kate trying to mediate Between his son Chris and his husband Joe but they are to angry with each other. She tries to stop him and doesn´t want that he goes to Cleveland because of a problem with his father. Than she tries to hold from Ann to give a letter from Larry, that he has written on his day of death, to Chris and he could read it. After that she tries to stop Joe read the letter, because she fears the react of him. Now she tries to calm Joe and says him that he has two sons. But this makes it only worse and Joe answers that the other 21 soldiers are his sons, too. The other thing that Kate´s is that Chris wants to brings Joe to prison and Joe wouldn´t survive it. The part of Kate in Joe´s guilt is that she fails by trying to submit between Chris and Joe. 164




4)Ann speaks and operates in this text in the least, but she makes the most important think for the other events. She gives a letter from Larry that he has written on his day of death. After Joe read this letter, he accepts his guilt.




5)“All my Sons”, “Death of a Salesman” and “An Inspector Calls” are dramas. “All my Sons” and “Death of a Salesman” are family dramas, while “Call of a Salesman” is a social drama. “Death of a Salesman” acts after and “All my Sons” on events in the Second World War in a father – son conflict.
The drama “Death of a Salesman” tells about events which happens after the second World War. Willy Loman and his son Biff are in a conflict because Willy has cheated his wife, Biff´s mother, on his business trip and Biff is very angry with his father. Willy is a dreamer and he believes in the American dream. In the part of the end in this story Biff shows Willy how much he loves him. Amazed that his son will cry for him, he decides to a suicide, so that his family get the money from the life insurance. But we don´t know how he really die.
In “All my Sons” is played after the Second World War, too. But on events that are happens during it. Joe Keller is a businessman who has soled defect airplane parts to the army in the Second World War. Because of this 21 one soldiers are dead. After the truth comes out is Chris, his son, very angry with him. After Joe Keller get a letter from his other son Lerry, who killed him self because of this mistake, Joe Keller killed him self, too. This is an other common of both storeys. Before they die, they realize the mistakes of them and that has an impact on their death. But in “All my Sons” we know that Joe Keller killed him self.
The drama “An Inspector Calls” acts about a woman with the name Eva, but she never comes out on the stage of playing. During of the engagement party of the family Birling, appear the inspector Goole and tell the people about the death of Eva. Many of the present persons have guilt in the suicide of Eva. Later the family Birling finds out, that there is no inspector Goole and nobody killed himself. But at the end of the another inspector call the family and says that a girl has committed suicide on the day and he will come by to ask some questions. In contrast to “All my Sons” and “Death of a Salesman” in this drama it isn´t clear whether Eva is really dead and no member of her family have guilt for her suicide. Here play work and love an important role in her death.
That the whole playing is very emotional and somebody die is typical for dramas.


All three dramas shows us 3 options how to get someone to suicide. In “All my Sons” it is fury. Chris is very angry at his father for his crime. In “Death of a Salesman” it is love. After Biff shows his father how much he love shim, Willy decides to kill himself. In “An Inspectors Call” it is selfishness. Everyone pushes her away, when it became uncomfortable for them. After it comes out that everything is just a fake, they are happy that they have no guilt.


The main theme common of the three plays is to take responsibility for his actions 570
