@tiorthan, da muss ich Dir widersprechen, der Satz ist nicht ungrammatisch.

Er verwendet nur im ersten Teil eine heute seltene, altertümliche und biblische Formulierung, nämlich anstelle des "have" im Present Perfect das "be". Wir finden - wie gesagt - diese Formulierung in alten Bibeltexten, wie z.B. hier der vierte Eintrag usw.:

In modernem Englisch wäre es einfach:

"I have come to see you and I have to be off" -> also völlig in Ordnung -> Ich bin gekommen, um Dich zu sehen und ich muss los!

"to be off" ist ein ganz gewöhnlicher Ausdruck, http://www.dict.cc/?s=to+be+off

der hier eben mit "have to" = "müssen" kombiniert ist.

Also insgesamt ist der Satz vorne etwas altertümlich stilisiert und hinten ganz modern.

I couldn't believe that there was a mistake in the sentence. I found this sentence in the novel that I started to read this week. It's "The prime of Miss Jean Brodie" wirtten by Muriel Spark. I have never even heard about this autor But now I'm enjoying her novel. To tell you the truth it's not easy to understand it. I would like to see a movie based on this novel. Especially because of Maggie Smith, who played the first role there.

It's "The prime of Miss Jean Brodie" written by Muriel Spark. I have never even heard about this autor.
I would especially like to see the movie based on this novel because of Maggie Smith, who played the role of Jean Brodie in this first film.

A DVD of this film is available in well known online shops (A...com).

The novel has been adapted for stage, film and television. All versions have retained the title The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.
First came the stage play in 1968. The 1969 film starred Maggie Smith, and was essentially a further adaptation of the play.
In 1978 a UK TV serial was aired which starred Geraldine McEwan.

Im richtigen Kontext stimmt das natürlich, darauf hab ich nicht geachtet.

"to be off" ist übrigens auch alles andere als modern.
