Was will der Autor mir damit sagen?

Bin bei Sleepers gerade an der Stelle, wo Shakes King Benny fragt, ob Daniel O'Connor (der Anwalt) den Job machen wird.

Shakes: "Is he ready to go along?"
King Benny: "He'll go. He's too young to have his friends drive their cars with their lights on."

Kann mir einer den zweiten Satz von King Benny übersetzten? Ist bestimmt irgend so eine Floskel, die ich nicht verstehe. Kann mir da echt nichts drunter vorstellen.

Also das heißt ungefähr "Er ist zu jung, um seine Freunde dazu zu bringen, das Licht beim Autofahren anzuschalten."
Dennoch bin ich etwas unsicher. Vielleicht gibst du mal die ganze Passage an, dann wird es wohl klarer.

Inetwa so hatte ich es auch übersetzt. Gibt nur wenig Sinn für mich.
Kann erst Montag den restlichen Text einstellen, hab das Buch gerade nicht hier und privat ja kein Internet. Melde mich noch mal.

Ich glaube zwar nicht, dass das viel helfen wird, aber hier der Text davor. Da davor geht es um etwas ganz anderes und danach geht es mit einem neuen Kapitel weiter.

"You better go now," King Benny said. "You don't wanna be late for your appointment."
"What appointment?"
"With Danny O'Connor," King Benny said. "He's watin' for you in Red Applegate's bar. Should be on his second scotch by now. Get to him before he has a third."
"Is he ready to go along?" I asked.
"He'll go," King Benny said. "He's too young to have his friends drive their cars with their lights on."
