Breakfast with my parents


My mom and I are going to swim every morning at the local public swimming pool. We try to go early, to catch the pool empty, but we are not consistent, because we oversleep
sometimes. Afterwards we always feel refreshed and good because we did some exercise. Meanwhile my dad is preparing a great breakfast for the three of us, with spring onion omelette and fresh bread. This morning I told him about my participation in an english forum and that I wrote a small essay about Mick and me baking “Bisquiteier”. I also said, that I thought they are only known in the area around Frankfurt, and that the guy who revised my essay mentioned, that he also knows ‘Bisquiteier”, although he is not from around Frankfurt. “Yes”, said my dad “I know them too, they are well known in Franken and Bavaria.” “I think they are known all over the South of Germany”, said my mom.

Schoener Text! Gut gemacht, Sahrasamstag! Und damit haben wir die Erklaerung, dein Vater hat Recht, Bisquiteier muessen in Sueddeutschland bekannt sein. Ich bin aus Franken und ich kenne Bisquiteier.

Und ich kenne die Dinger natürlich wieder nicht! Typisch, hier gibt's immer nur Froschpudding zum Nachtisch!

Darf ich eine kleine Anmerkung machen: Da Du mit Deiner Mama ja jeden Morgen zum Schwimmen gehst und Dein lieber Papa offenbar auch jeden Morgen ein leckeres Frühstück für Euch 3 macht, verwende hier besser das Simple Present:

Every morning my mom and I go swimming at the local public swimming pool. ... Meanwhile my dad prepares a great breakfast for the three of us...

Das Simple Present nehmen wir ja, um wiederholte, regelmäßige Handlungen auszudrücken.
