Have an event which take place about 1000 years ago a big meaning to the connection between the Islamic and Christian people? In my opinion not, because there are a lot of more current things which overshadow the cohabitant.
In my eyes the crusades were one of the most needless events in history and a really good example for the devil, in design of the church, which is unserviceable and overrated. Because of this war the doors between these two cultures closed forever and the Orient loosed its pioneer role. The proud Muslims have good reasons to see the intolerant Christian as enemies, even today. But I think that the most of them do not make such a big deal because of the crusades, they see it all most as the beginning of the oppression. Furthermore we have a lot of more new events which show us that the west do not learn something since that time. Today we just call it different and damage the Orient in other ways.
In the 20 Century behaviours from J. W. Bush as example catapult the Muslims in the Middle Ages and the constantly hectoring of the Europeans in theirs politic do not make our reputation there better.
The Islamic world has a lot of arguments to isolate itself from the westerly civilization. The crusades as an explanation for the antipathy against us is just an excuse ourselves, because we do not want to open our eyes and realize that we derogate in the last 100 years the Orient even more than the crusades did. Finally it is easier to blame an event which take place so much time ago as to accept own mistakes. The west break down as a role model, the Muslims have every right to see us critically. Of course they are some Muslims who think positive about the Europeans, with these they just show us that they do nit loose all of they tolerance.
Ich weiß, dass ich unglaublichen Mist geschrieben habe, jedoch geht es (leider Gottes) nicht besser.
