Honourable Ladies and Gentlemen,
First of all, I would like to welcome you to our debate. It is a great honor and pleasure to have all of you here for such a noble cause: to focus and reflect on the benefits of globalization.
Globalization is very important to all of us. As you know germanies exportrate is very high. We need that export to keep our wealth.
You Sir! Would you switch your life with that of an African? I guess not.
You would not have such a high standard of living without globalization and goods like bananas would not be available in your country.
You would not benefit from the diversity of every culture without globalization.
Without globalization there would not have been such a strong economic growth in the past in our countries and such a strong economic growth in the developing countries today.
If you ask me: The people in developing countries have to be glad about the jobs they get from the industries of our countries. A product of globalization! Do you really think that their live would be better if they are unemployed?
I will give you an example:
Five years ago Mr. Chan from China suffered for years from unemployment in his country. He was not able to feed his children. Today he has got a well-paid job. He is glad that he can give his family a better live. A product of globalization!
The pollution in the developing countries is the governments fault, not ours! The governments task is to make sure that the rubbish management works. It has to establish laws and guidelines for its industrie to avoid pollution.
The developing countries also greatly benefit from global trade as well as from development aid.
Slowly but surely the developing countries lift their standard of living. In a few decades, they will live as well as we do.
Today China, a former developing country is one of the strongest economic countries.
Do you beleave that their wealth comes from keeping rice farms? No. Many companies outsourced their production halls to China. In the last decades Chinas industrial growth exploded. Many Chinese live a good live today. It is a product of globalization!
