Therefor Henslowe wants Shakespeare to write a new play: 'Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter', which used to become a comedy. But Henslowe is not the only one who expects the young man to write a play: Shakespeare has promised some other people to wright a play for them but the only thing of these that exists is the title. His greatest rival helps him to get at least a little idea of a beginning.
At the actor's selection Shakespeare's attention is called to an actor called Thomas Kent; he gets the part of the Romeo. Shakespeare follows the actor and when he arrives at a manor house he falls in love with Lady Viola. But Lord Wessex, her husband in future, clarifies the situation and tells Shakespeare to let her go and when he askes after the young man's name, he gets the answer 'Christopher Marlowe'. After a few rehearsals Shakespeare finds out that Thomas Kent is Lady Viola and there is no chance to avoid their love.
When Lady Viola gets to know that Shakespeare is already married she is very touched and disappointed, but when Lord Wessex tells her that her lover Christopher Marlowe is dead she is shocked because she thinks that he means Shakespeare. But Shakespeare is alive and when it gets public that Thomas Kent is a woman the Rose is been closed. But Burbage, rival of Henslowe, agrees that the play will be performed in his theatre.
Lady Viola finds out that the play is going to be presented and she wants to watch the presentation. When she accidently gets to know about the missing Juliet, she spontaneously takes the role.
After the play some people want to imprison the whole group for letting a woman play in the theatre again but Queen Elizabeth is generous and makes everyone think that Lady Viola is Thomas Kent.

While William Shakespeare, a young playwrighter, tries to get back his lost muse and has got some money problems, Philip Henslowe, the owner of the Rose Theatre, is in debt.
Therefore Henslowe wants Shakespeare to write a new play: 'Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter', whichused tobecame a comedy.
But Henslowe is not the only one who expects the young man to write a play.
Shakespeare has promised some other people to write a play for them too.
Unfortunately the only thing of those plays that exists so far is their title.
His greatest rival helps him to get at least a little idea of a beginning.
At the audition Shakespeare's attention is focused on an actor called Thomas Kent; he gets the part of the Romeo.
Shakespeare follows the actor and when he arrives at a manor house he falls in love with Lady Viola. (Shakespeare or Thomas?)
But Lord Wessex, herfuturehusband, clarifies the situation and tells Shakespeare to let her go (Did Shakespearetook her hostage?) and when he askes after the young man's name, the answerhe receives is'Christopher Marlowe'. (Didn't he know his name is Thomas Kent?)
After a few rehearsals Shakespeare finds out that Thomas Kent is Lady Viola and there is no chance to avoid their love.
When Lady Viola learns that Shakespeare is already married she is very touched and disappointed, but when Lord Wessex tells her that her loverChristopher Marloweis dead she is shocked because she thinks that he means Shakespeare.
But Shakespeare is alive and when it gets public that Thomas Kent is a woman the Rose is been closed.
But Burbage, rival of Henslowe, agrees that the play will be performed in his theatre.
Lady Viola finds out that the play is going to be performed again and so she wants to watch the performance/production.
When she hears by accident that the role of Juliet is not yet cast she decides spontaneously to take the role.
After the play some people want to imprison the whole group for letting a woman play in the theatre again but Queen Elizabeth is generous and makes everyone think that Lady Viola is Thomas Kent.

Ich gehe noch einmal drüber, OK?!![]()
While William Shakespeare, a young playwright (oder playwriter), tries to get back his lost muse/to overcome his writer's block and has got some money problems, Philip Henslowe, the owner of the Rose Theatre, is in debt.
Therefore, Henslowe wants Shakespeare to write a new play: 'Romeo and Ethel, the Pirate's Daughter', which is to be a comedy.
But Henslowe is not the only one who expects the young man to write a play.
Shakespeare has promised some other people to write a play for them, too.
Unfortunately, at the moment nothing but the titles of these plays exist.
His greatest rival (wer ist das?) helps him to find at least an idea for a beginning.
At the audition (wie nun?, er hat das Stück noch nicht geschrieben und sie suchen schon Schauspieler???) Shakespeare's attention is focused on an actor called Thomas Kent who subsequently gets the part oftheRomeo.
Shakespeare follows the actor home and when he arrives at a manor house he falls in love with Lady Viola. (Shakespeare or Thomas?) Stimmt, dieser Teil ist wirklich nicht sehr klar, ich kenne den Film nicht und bin verwirrt. Da musst Du nochmal dran!!
But Lord Wessex, herfuturehusband, clarifies the situation and tells Shakespeare to let her go/leave her alone (Did Shakespearetake her hostage?) and when he enquires about the young man's name, the answerhe receives is'Christopher Marlowe'. (Didn't he know his name is Thomas Kent?) (Und ist Christopher Marlowe nicht ein Schriftstellerkollege/Konkurrent?)
After a few rehearsals Shakespeare finds out that Thomas Kent is Lady Viola and there is no chance to quench their love.
When Lady Viola learns that Shakespeare isalreadymarried, she is very touched and disappointed, but when Lord Wessex (Ist nicht Lord Wessex ihr Verlobter???Wieso weiß der so einfach von einem Geliebten???) tells her that her loverChristopher Marloweis dead she is shocked because she thinks that he means Shakespeare.
But Shakespeare is alive. When the fact that Thomas Kent is a woman becomes known, though, the Rose Theatre is closed. Although Burbage isHenslowe'srival, he agrees to stage the play in his theatre.
Lady Viola finds out that the play is going to be performed again and so she wants to watch the performance/production.
When she hears by accident that the part of Juliet has not yet been cast, shespontaneouslydecides to take it.
After the play some people want to imprison the whole group for letting a woman play on the stage of a theatreagain, but Queen Elizabeth is generous and makes everyone think that Lady Viola is Thomas Kent.
But...
Teilweise etwas kuddelmuddelig, geh da man noch mal drüber und vergiss nicht, dass der Leser den Film wahrscheinlich nicht kennt.
