How to analyze a Short Story?

We will write an exam on friday. The topic is short story analyzing. What should I pay attention if I write an analyse?
Can somebody help me please?
Here is a short story analyse from the short story "Just along for the ride", that I wrote yesterday.
The short story "Just along for the ride" is written by Dennis Kurumada. It is about a group of boys and Ken Benjamin. The boys: Dick, Phil, Reid, Steve and the first person narrator are just driving around in Dick's car. Phil comes to the idea, to drive up to somebody and flatten him. The first person narrator is a bit different them the other boys, because he is against this idea. But they do it anyway. After they do it, the first person narrator perceive that their victim is his friend Ken Benjamin. He tells dick to stop the car, but he don't and they hit and run. The first person narrator paints bad pictures in his mind and have feelings of guilt. He wants to talk Ken's mother about that what they had done and apologize. The other boys don't think about that. The end of the story is an ellipsis. The story is written in the simple past.
The topic is still up to date. Many people don't take responsibility, but in the story the first person narrator takes responsibility. He tries to put their mistake right, but the other want only forget this mistake and get away with it.

wenn es eine Analyse sein soll, ist Dein Versuch noch nicht so ganz gelungen, denn er beschränkt sich ja eher - bis auf das Ende - auf eine inhaltliche Zusammenfassung. Ich habe zwei Seiten, die Du mal durchlesen könntest, um dann noch einen neuen Versuch zu starten? Besonders die 2. ist wichtig, weil sie nützliche Phrasen enthält.
