Verkörpert Barack Obama den American Dream?

This is a difficult question to answer. Barack Obama is one of the most important people on our earth because America is the global power.
Many people have voted for Barack Obama because they had many dreams, which were not achieved by the farmer President George Bush.
There are people who want endless richness while other hope for freedom and fairness.
Barack Obama has made many promises to the American nation that are very encourage. So if I would talk from the view of an innocent prisoner in Guantanamo Bay it would be a dream to be free, or if I would talk from the view of an Afghan than my dream would be to have a state without external occupying forces.
Barack Obama has made a promise that he wants to close the strange prison in Guantanamo Bay and to recall his forces from Afghanistan. I think this is the first step, how he shows us that he could be the personification of the American Dream.
As I mentioned above, every person has got his individual theory.
So now I would like to argue from the perspective of an American farmer.
I think his dream would be that people should protect the ambience.
So if we look to Obamas political act we can see that he stands up for the ambience because he said in his campaign that there will be a turn in the American climate policy. He decided to put stronger emission standards and so on. Of course if we compare it to Germany it would be absurd but I think it is a very good start for America because the nation is one of the most countries who contaminate the ambience with CO2.
As we already know, the Afro-American citizen wanted to escape from the Ghetto’s where they used to live. Barack Obama said, that he is trying to “green the ghetto “(http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2009 ... ct_kolbert).
That means that he wants to help those poor people and give them a chance to change their life into a better one, by enhancing those ghettos.

So the main fact is that Barack Obama is a strong person who can help his nation and other countries in the world.
But there are people who do not see the American Dream in Barack Obama, like we saw in the interview above.
Mainly those people are not follower of Barack Obama. They have another idea of politics. But all in one, in my opinion Barack Obama has made a great job and has helped many people all over the world.
So it is deserved to say, that Barack Obama is the personification of the American Dream theory.

Hi Odey und willkommen im Forum!

Zur Korrektur reicht gerade meine Zeit nicht, aber beim Durchlesen Deines Textes kam mir die Frage in den Sinn, ob die Aufgabe vielleicht anders gemeint gewesen sein könnte? Also, weil von "verkörpern" die Rede ist, bedeutet die Aufgabe nicht vielleicht, ob Obama als Sinnbild des American Dream, der ja u.a. beinhaltet, dass jeder Mensch Alles schaffen kann, wenn er sich nur genug Mühe gibt, gelten kann. Immerhin ist er Afro-Amerikaner und hat es in einem Land zum Präsidenten gebracht, in dem es noch vor nicht allzu langer Zeit schlimme Rassenunterschiede gab und auch heute sicher nicht alle Menschen wirklich die gleichen Chancen haben.

Nun weiß ich nicht, was der Kontext der Aufgabe ist, aber ich hätte sie eher so verstanden.
