Wann sagt man denn: to take part in - und wann - to take part on?

"to take part in" sagst du beispielsweise wenn du bei einer Umfrage teilnimmst (to take part in the survey) oder bei einem Ereignis (to take part in this year's Great North Run).
"to take part on" verwendet man auch bei Ereignissen, jedoch um beispielsweise auf den Zeitaspekt hinzuweisen "I will be taking part on day 1 and day 2". Oder aber wenn du bei einem Ereignis eine Seite waehlen musst, z.B. "I will be taking part on the Tories' side during this year's annual political meeting".
