London is the capital of the United Kingdom.
It is situated in Southeastern England along the Thames River.
The climate in London is generally mild and damp.
The weather is generally cloudy and foggy.
London has warmer Summers than most of the island.
In London there are a lot of shopping streets where you can enjoy a long shopping trip. There are about 30.000 stores and 26 street markets. The busy Oxford Street with more than 300 shopping malls is the centre of the “shopping paradise” of London.

The Tower of London was first a castle, later a prison and is now a museum where you can see the Crown Jewels.
Tower Bridge is the most famous bridge across the River Thames.
It can also open when big ship has to go up- or downstream.
The Queen (Elisabeth II) lives in Buckingham Palace.
St. Paul's Cathedral was designed by Sir Christopher Wren.
Westminster Abbey is the place where the kings and queens are crowned.
The Houses of Parliament are on the River Thames next to the Clock Tower with Big Ben.
Hyde Park is a nice place for relaxing.
